Not IBM Thinkpad quality, nor reliable July 14, 2010

The SL510 that we ordered arrived Dead on Arrival. The new Lenovo keyboards are no longer as good as in the IBM Thinkpads. In fact the flexy keyboard is downright cheesy. A major disappointment. Lenovo Thinkpads were supposed to be winning Editor's Choice awards and all that. Well, maybe. But not here. This dead one went back and I bought a used but very nice older model IBM T43p.

I hasten to add that this attempted purchase was through Newegg. After some years of successful purchases at Newegg, they have gone solidly to the Dark Side. Newegg is now very dirty. Don't risk a purchase of more than $25 on Newegg. You will probably regret it, as we did.
